Good Morning. Can anyone provide me with details on how their council went about communicating to the public a change in operating hours. After amalgamating a few years ago we are now ready to bring both offices into line with a 4.30pm close (1 office currently still open to 5pm).
We did this via our Mayor’s message in our local newspaper, updating our website and with signage at each of our locations.
We actually reduced our hours from 5.30 to 5pm in two locations so all locations now close their doors at 5pm, however we retained our call centre hours for 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 5pm on Friday.
We increased our hours (by 30 mins from 4.30 to 5) and announced it via all public related channels.
Newspaper, Social media and website, signage in the service centres as well, notifications on receipts and announcements via the phone hotline.
